Abstract:
In spite of spanding over 40 mld. zł. on state aid for the coal mining sector,
the reform of mines has not ended yet. The restructuring of the coal mining
sector began in 1989 and it has been continued since then. The changes in
mines are goving very slowly and very often have a backward and superficial
character.
The results of changes in mines are very slow because the reactions of
workers towards changes in mines are very strong. The main goal of this
article was to show why there is such a great resistance of miners against
changes in mines and why it takes so long. The author of this work tried to
identify the sources of the resistance against changes in the coal mining sector
and how can then be minimized.
