W badaniu wykorzystano zestaw następujących metod: Tennessee Skala Obrazu Siebie (TSCS) W. H. Fittsa, Skala Zespołu Dziecka Maltretowanego (SZDM) S. Tucholskiej oraz Arkusz personalny własnej konstrukcji. Zebrany materiał empiryczny poddano analizie statystycznej i psychologicznej.
The thesis has a theoretical-empirical capacity. The undertaken research problem is focused on the analysis of the relationships occurring between the self-image and the domestic violence experience of adolescents. The research has been conducted among 139 gymnasium students between the ages of 13 to 17. Following methods have been used in the research: Tennessee Self- Concept Scale (TSCS) by William H. Fitts, Abused Child Syndrome Scale (SZDM) by Stanisława Tucholska and a self-constructed Personal Sheet. The acquired empirical material was analyzed statistically and psychologically. The performed analyses indicate that the adolescents experiencing domestic violence are characterized by low self-acceptation level as well as by low level of self-esteem. Furthermore, members of this group find it difficult to accept their physical appearance and perceive themselves as morally inferior. The research participants experiencing domestic violence display a tendency for inadequate functioning in a family environment and negatively evaluate their relationships with others. The executed research program with the participation of students experiencing domestic violence provided results that alongside the cognitive benefit have an applicable value.
