Tematem przewodnim pracy było zbadanie tendencji dla poszczególnych grup politycznych w wyborach do Parlamentu Europejskiego w roku 2014. Przeprowadzono porównanie, wyników wyborów z roku 2009 oraz wyborów z roku 2014, zarówno na przykładzie polskiego przedstawicielstwa w strukturach Parlamentu Europejskiego, jak również na przykładzie frakcji znajdujących się w Parlamencie. Na podstawie badań stwierdzić można, iż wybory do Parlamentu Europejskiego nie cieszą się dużą popularnością wśród obywateli, czego wynikiem jest bardzo niska frekwencja podczas wyborów. Wybory do Parlamentu 2014 szczególnie w Polsce przyniosły nieoczekiwane rozwiązania, ponieważ, po raz pierwszy w historii swoich przedstawicieli mają ugrupowania antyunijne, nie kryjące swojej niechęci do struktur Unii Europejskiej. W przypadku innych ugrupowań siły rozłożyły się podobnie jak w wyborach z 2009 roku, najwięcej straciła Platforma Obywatelska, a zyskało Prawo i Sprawiedliwość. W przypadku frakcji w Parlamencie Europejskim rozkład sił również pozostał zbliżony do tego sprzed pięciu lat.
The theme of the study was to examine trends for the different political groups in the European Parliament elections in 2014. A comparison of the results of the elections of 2009 and the election of 2014, both on the example of Polish representation in the structures of the European Parliament, as well as the example of the fractions contained in Parliament. Based on the research it can be concluded that the elections to the European Parliament does not enjoy great popularity among citizens, resulting in a very low turnout during elections. Elections to the Parliament in 2014, especially in Poland brought an unexpected solution because, for the first time in the history of their representatives have anti-EU groups, not hiding his distaste to the European Union. For other groups forces were divided, as in the election of 2009, the most lost Civic Platform and Law and Justice gained. In the case of fraction in the European Parliament distribution of power also remained similar to that of five years ago.
