Opłacalność wprowadzenia terminala płatniczego w małym punkcie handlowym na przykładzie "Sklepu Spożywczo-Przemysłowego K.SZ.".

Abstract

Pieniądz elektroniczny zrewolucjonizował myślenie o finansach, zarówno dla zwykłych obywateli, jak i dla przedsiębiorstw. Niniejsza praca ma odpowiedzieć na pytanie, czy opłacalne jest wprowadzenie terminala płatniczego w małym punkcie handlowym. W tym celu przeprowadzono badanie i dokonano symulacji obliczeń. Badanie prowadzono w Sklepie Spożywczo-Przemysłowym K. Sz. w Korzennej. Jako metodę badawczą wybrano ankietę, w której udział wzięło 70 osób, które są stałymi klientami Sklepu. Ankietowani odpowiadali anonimowo na pytania dotyczące posiadania i używania przez nich kart płatniczych. Zostali również poproszeni o wyrażenie zdania na temat wprowadzenia terminala w tym Sklepie. Po przeanalizowaniu wszystkich ankiet, okazało się, że respondenci to najczęściej emeryci i renciści, a także rolnicy. Część z nich w ogóle nie posiada karty, a ci, którzy ja mają, bardzo rzadko używają jej do płacenia rachunków w punktach handlowych. Brak terminala nie jest dla nich problemem, a jego wprowadzenie nie wpłynie na ilość wydawanych w Sklepie pieniędzy. Na potrzeby pracy przeprowadzono również symulacje różnych scenariuszy, na podstawie dostępnych rozliczeń finansowych Sklepu, za rok 2012. Wyniki symulacji jak i ankiety pokazały, że wprowadzenie terminala nie wpłynie na zwiększenie dochodów firmy, a wręcz może je osłabić.

Electronic money has dramatically changed the way of thinking about finance, both for ordinary people as well as for enterprises. The present paper discusses the profitability of a credit and debit card terminal installed in a small retail outlet. In order to answer the question a research and analysis of scenarios were performed. The relevant research was conducted in the “Sklep Spożywczo-Przemysłowy K.Sz.” store in Korzenna, Poland. The method applied was customer survey. 70 store customers were asked to participate in the survey. The respondents, who remained anonymous, were to answer some questions as to whether they own credit/debit cards and what are their habits when it comes to using them. They were also asked to provide their opinion on the introduction of the credit and debit card terminal in the “Sklep Spożywczo-Przemysłowy K.Sz.” store. A thorough analysis of the responses revealed that the survey participants were, for the most part, pensioners and farmers. Some of them do not own a credit or debit card at all, and those who do have it seldom pay with it while shopping in retail outlets. Therefore, lack of a terminal is not a problem for them, and the fact that it was installed in the store will not have an impact on the amount of money that they spend there. For the sake of the research, simulations of various scenarios were carried out, based on the available balance sheets of he “Sklep Spożywczo-Przemysłowy K.Sz.” store for the year 2012. The results of these simulations, as well as the survey results, show that the introduction of the terminal will not increase the store’s revenue and profits – on the contrary, they might be decreased.
