Stereotyp Roma w świadomości studentów Wyższej Szkoły Biznesu -National-Louis University

Abstract

Praca dyplomowa skupia się na problematyce stereotypizacji w postrzeganiu romskiej mniejszości etnicznej zamieszkującej teren Rzeczypospolitej. Za główny cel pracy przyjęto analizę stereotypu Roma funkcjonującego w świadomości studentów Wyższej Szkoły Biznesu National Louis- Univeristy w Nowym Sączu. Wykorzystana w przeprowadzonych badaniach metoda ankietowa, oraz narzędzie w postaci kwestionariusza ankiety umożliwiły przedstawienie stereotypowego wizerunku Roma, jaki wyłonił się na podstawie odpowiedzi respondentów. Ankietę środowiskową wypełniło 100 studentów wszystkich kierunków studiów niestacjonarnych dostępnych na Wyższej Szkole Biznesu. Otrzymane wyniki ukazują romską mniejszość w bardzo niekorzystnym świetle. W świadomości studentów dominuje negatywny stereotyp Roma, który utożsamiany jest z samymi pejoratywnie zabarwionymi cechami takimi jak: nieuczciwość, lenistwo, niechlujstwo. Respondenci utrzymują wobec tej mniejszości duży dystans społeczny, który przejawia się w braku zgody wszystkich respondentów na nawiązywanie bliższych stosunków z przedstawicielami tej grupy etnicznej. Skrajnie negatywne zdanie ankietowanych o Romach i jawnie demonstrowana wobec nich niechęć, przy braku podstawowej wiedzy o nich oraz niewielkim odsetku osób znających osobiście Roma świadczy, że studenci nie tylko posługują się w swoich opiniach stereotypami, ale wykazują się postawą uprzedzoną.

The diploma thesis is devoted to the stereotype approach to the Romani ethnic minority settled on the territory of the Republic of Poland. The main objective of the work is to analyze the stereotype image of the Romany in the consciousness of students of Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu - National Louis University, based in Nowy Sącz. The opinion survey was conducted by questionnaire. The respondents’ answers allowed for revealing the stereotype image of the Romany. The questionnaire was responded by 100 part-time students of all Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu departments. The survey results put the Romani minority in the bad light. In the students’ consciousness, the Romany negative stereotype dominates, and a Romany is granted with such pejorative features including dishonesty, laziness, and sloppiness. The respondents tend to keep the social distance towards the Romanies, and manifest the refuse to establish contacts with this ethnic group. The respondents indicate the extreme negative opinion about the Romanies, and, at the same time, demonstrate the lack of the basic knowledge about the Romanies. Only few respondents have ever been familiar with a Romany personally. Despite this, the respondents express negative opinion about the Romanies, and manifest the antipathy towards this minority. All the above proves the fact that the students not only believe in stereotypes, but are also prejudiced against the Romani ethnic group.
