Problemem głównym podjętych przeze mnie badań było wyznaczenie współzależności
pomiędzy empatią osobową a poczuciem jakości życia. W związku z tym postawiłam
następujące pytania badawcze: „Czy ze wzrostem empatii osobowej wzrasta poziom jakości
życia?” „Czy rodzaj empatii różnicuje poczucie jakości życia badanych?” „Na ile młodzież
ujawnić może wskaźnik empatii osobowej w relacjach interpersonalnych?”
W celach badawczych sformułowałam następujące hipotezy: (H1) Wraz ze wzrostem
empatii osobowej wzrasta poczucie jakości życia; (H2) Wraz ze wzrostem empatii osobowej wzrastają intrapsychiczne wskaźniki integracji osobowości i pozytywnych relacji interpersonalnych; (H3) Wraz ze wzrostem empatii osobowej wzrasta poczucie sensu życia
i samoaktualizacji siebie; (H4) Wyższe wskaźniki w poszczególnych skalach jakości życia
osiągają osoby, u których występuje empatia spontaniczna.
Badania empiryczne zostały przeprowadzone na grupie 140 adolescentów (99 kobiet i
41 mężczyzn) w wieku 17-18 lat. Powyższe hipotezy zostały poddane weryfikacji za pomocą
następujących narzędzi pomiaru: Kwestionariusz Psychologiczny Empatii Osobowej (KP
EmO), Z. Uchnasta oraz Wybrane Skale psychologicznej jakości życia (SPJŻ): Ryana,
Stegera, Diennera, Jonesa i Crandalla oraz O’Briena i Epsteina. Ich tłumaczenia i
opracowania dokonał Z. Uchnast. Uzyskane wyniki badań potwierdziły częściowo tylko
drugą i czwartą hipotezę. Uzyskane rezultaty można tłumaczyć specyficznym okresem
rozwojowym adolescentów. Potrzebują oni zatem więcej czasu na dookreślenie swojej
dojrzałości w zróżnicowaniu postaw dotyczących empatycznej życzliwości, spontanicznej i
warunkowej.
The topic of my research was to determine an interdependence between personal
empathy and well-being feeling. Therefore I assumed the following research questions: „Does
the feeling of well-being is improving with the growth of the personal empathy?’ „Does type
of an empathy impact the feeling of well-being?’„How much can youth reveal in
interpersonal relations the personal empathy?’ For the purpose of research I formulated
following hypothesis: H1 – Growth of personal empathy causes an increase in feeling of well- being; H2 – Growth of personal empathy causes growth of an internal personal integrity and
positive interpersonal relationships; H3 - Growth of personal empathy causes stronger feeling
that life is meaningful and affords self-actualization; H4 – Higher results in each quality of
life measure are reached by people with a higher level of spontaneous empathy.
Research has been conducted on a sample of 140 people (99 women and 41 men) aged
17-18. Above mentioned hypothesis have been verified using the following psychological
instruments: Personal Empathy Questionnaire (KP EmO) by Z. Uchnast and selected
psychological scales of feeling of well-being (SPJZ) elaborated by Ryan, Steger, Dienner,
Jones & Crandall, O’Brien, & Epstein which were translated and adapted by Z. Uchnast.
Acquired results only partially confirm second and fourth hypothesis. Such results show up
that young people need more time to learn how to transcend the conditional empathy and
achieve a higher level of spontaneous inconditional empathic attitudes toward others.
