pomiędzy młodzieżą o niskiej i wysokiej ocenie własnej fizyczności? Podstawą do
K. Zintkowskiej i prof. S. Tucholskiej i ankietę personalną własnej konstrukcji. Po dokonaniu
analizy statystycznej i psychologicznej otrzymanych wyników stwierdzono, że wszystkie
przyjęte wcześniej hipotezy zostały pozytywnie zweryfikowane.
Wnioski końcowe wskazują, że młodzież o niskiej ocenie własnej fizyczności
charakteryzuje się mniejszym zadowoleniem z siebie. Ich samopoczucie i samoocena na
gruncie kontaktów interpersonalnych i rodzinnych jest istotnie niższa niż młodzieży o
wysokiej ocenie własnej fizyczności. Ponadto, wykazują więcej cech ogólnego
nieprzystosowania.
zachowanie. |

The current study is theoretical and empirical in nature. The primary aim of the current
study was to investigate the relationship between excess weight and self-image. Excess
weight within the current study is defined as lower self-evaluation of one’s own physique.
The following hypothesis was put forward: is there a difference and what kind of
difference between self-image and high and low evaluation of one’s own physique? There
were 120 adolescents between 16-17 years of age that participated in the current study. The
following methods were used to verify hypotheses: Tennessee Self-Concept Scale, Skale
Oceny Własnej Fizyczności as well as a demographic questionnaire to elicit background
information. Statistical analyses indicated that all hypotheses were supported and confirmed.
The emergent findings indicated that adolescents with lower self evaluation of their physique
report less self satisfaction. Their well being and self esteem within interpersonal relation and
family environment is much lower than in adolescents who report higher self evaluation of
their physique. More over they show aspects of maladjustment and this becomes a negative
consequence on their behaviour and identity formation. |
