Na etapie podejmowania działalności gospodarczej oraz przed rozpoczęciem kolejnego roku podatkowego wiele podmiotów zastanawia się nad wyborem najkorzystniejszej formy opodatkowania. Aby odpowiedzieć na pytanie, która forma będzie najlepsza dla przedsiębiorcy, trzeba dogłębnie przeanalizować specyfikę danej firmy, profil jej działalności, przewidywane przychody i koszty oraz potencjalny rozwój. Celem przedstawionej pracy była analiza wyboru optymalnej formy opodatkowania dochodów, jakie badana firma uzyskała w wyniku swojej działalności w 2012 roku. Metodologia badań oparta została na obserwacji i analizie podmiotu badania oraz pozyskanych i przetworzonych danych wtórnych. Porównanie wszystkich możliwych form opodatkowania w analizowanym roku pokazało, że właściciel firmy nie podjął słusznej decyzji na początku roku i dlatego musiał zapłacić o półtorej razy wyższy podatek w stosunku do najkorzystniejszej formy. Niewłaściwa decyzja przedsiębiorcy mogła wynikać z nieodpowiedniego planowania rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa lub złej kalkulacji wyniku gospodarczego.
At the stage of undertaking business activity and before the start of the following tax year many business entities have to decide on the best form of taxation. To answer the question which form of taxation is the best for an entrepreneur one should analyse very deeply the specificity of a firm, a profile of its activity, the expected income and costs and a potential development. The aim of the thesis was to do analysis of the choice of an optimal form of income taxation, which the examined company obtained as a result of its activity in the fiscal year 2012. The methodology of research was based on the observations and analysis of the object of study and the obtained and processed secondary data. After having drawn a comparison of all the possible forms of taxation in the analysed fiscal year, the conclusion was reached that the entrepreneur had not taken the right decision at the beginning of the year and as a result of it, he had to pay one and a half higher tax in comparison to the best form. The wrong decision might have resulted from an unsuitable development planning or from the wrong calculation of the company’s business results.
