Wpływ transgranicznej współpracy Polski i Słowacji na rozwój ruchu turystycznego na przykładzie Euroregionu Tatry

Abstract

Przedmiotem pracy magisterskiej jest analiza wpływów działań Euroregionu Tatry na rozwój ruchu turystycznego w regionie po obu stronach granicy polsko-słowackiej. Analizę przeprowadzono na podstawie dostępnych materiałów uzyskanych z literatury, internetu, dokumentów Euroregionu Tatry oraz danych z Urzędu Statystycznego Republiki Słowackiej oraz Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego Polski. Punktem wyjścia dla pracy było zebranie i przeanalizowanie danych dotyczących rozwoju infrastruktury turystycznej, w szczególności obiektów bazy noclegowej oraz przyjazdów turystów nie tylko krajowych, ale i zagranicznych na teren Euroregionu Tatry w latach 2007 – 2009. Badano efekty realizowanych projektów przez Euroregion Tatry i ich wpływ na rozwój ruchu turystycznego na danym terenie. Porównywano, ile turystów zagranicznych odwiedzało Euroregion Tatry i jak ich liczba zmieniała się podczas realizowania projektów w ramach Programu Współpracy Transgranicznej Rzeczpospolita Polska – Republika Słowacka 2007 – 2013. Z danych statystycznych, które były przedmiotem analizy, można by wysnuć wniosek, że działania Euroregionu Tatry nie przyniosły oczekiwanych rezultatów w postaci wzrostu zainteresowania regionem wśród turystów, zwłaszcza zagranicznych. Wręcz przeciwnie, prawie we wszystkich kategoriach statystyki wykazały spadek.

The subject of this thesis is the analysis of the influence of Tatra Euroregion on development of tourism in the region of both sides of the Polish-Slovak border. The analysis was conducted on the basis of materials obtained from the literature, the Internet, the Tatra Euroregion’s documents and data from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic and the Polish Central Statistical Office. The starting point for this study was to collect and analyze data concerning the development of the tourist infrastructure, especially accommodation facilities and arrivals of not only domestic but also foreign tourists to the area of the Tatra Euroregion in the years 2007 - 2009. The effects of the projects realized by the Tatra Euroregion and their impact on the development of tourism in the area were studied. The number of foreign tourists visiting the Tatra Euroregion and its changes during the implementation of projects under the Cross Border Cooperation Programme Poland - Slovak Republic 2007 – 2013 were compared. According to statistical data which were the subject of the analysis, one might conclude that the activities of the Tatra Euroregion have not brought expected results in the form of increased interest in the region among tourists, especially foreign tourists. At the moment, these actions appear either as not effective enough to stimulate tourism, or other factors such as too low prosperity, the economic crisis, etc. have much greater impact in relation to the activities of the Euroregion.
