Percepcja postaw rodzicielskich przez młodzież nieśmiałą

Abstract

W ostatnich dekadach obserwuje się wzrost zainteresowania problematyką nieśmiałości. Świadczy o tym między innymi rosnąca liczba publikacji, zarówno naukowych jak i popularyzujących wiedzę dotycząca tego zaburzenia, w tym głównie poradników. Współcześnie nieśmiałość postrzegana jest, jako istotny problem, zarówno jednostkowy, jak i społeczny. Wielu autorów zwraca uwagę na poważne konsekwencje bycia osobą nieśmiałą. Problem nieśmiałości jest szczególnie istotny w odniesieniu do dzieci i młodzieży. Wiele uwagi poświęca się uwarunkowaniom nieśmiałości zwracając przy tym uwagę na rolę czynników rodzinnych. Szczególne znaczenie przypisuje się tu postawom rodziców i stosowanym przez nich metodom wychowawczym i atmosferze życia rodzinnego. Realizowany program badawczy dotyczył kwestii powiązań pomiędzy nieśmiałością a percepcją postaw rodzicielskich u młodzieży. W tym celu przeprowadzono badania psychologiczne, w których wzięło udział 170 osób (89 kobiet i 81 mężczyzn) w wieku od 16 lat do 17 lat. W badaniach wykorzystano następujące metody psychologiczne: Kwestionariusz N autorstwa R. Croziera Skale T N. Eisenberga, R.Fabera i B. Murphya, Skalę Postaw Rodzicielskich M. Plopy oraz Arkusz Personalny własnej konstrukcji. Wśród badanych 32% to młodzież nieśmiała. Z ich wypowiedzi wynika, że swoich rodziców (zarówno matki jak i ojców) spostrzegają jako nadmiernie akceptujących i obdarzających autonomią. Co świadczy o tym, że rodzice w pełni akceptują swoje dziecko oraz zawsze służą dobrą radą i pomocą. Taki obraz postaw rodzicielskich jest zbliżony do tego jaki ma młodzież nie cechująca się nieśmiałością.

In the last decades there has been a visible rise of interest in subject of timidity. The number of publications, both scientific and concerning the basic knowledge of the disorder, especially guide books, can be a great example of that. Nowadays, the timidity is seen as an important problem of a single unit as well as a social issue. It can be noticed that many scientists draw their attention to the consequences of being a timid person. This particular problem is especially important as far as children and teenagers are considered. A lot of attention has been drawn to the reasons of this disorder and at the same time to the family factor. Particularly crucial are the parental attitude, their methods of upbringing the children, as well as the atmosphere of family life. The research of my thesis concerned the connection between timidity and the teenagers' perception of their parents' behaviour. To examine the matter, 170 people aged between 16 and 17 (including 89 women and 81 men) took part in the research. In the study the following psychological methods were used: Kwestionariusz N by R. Crozier, Skale T by N. Eisenberg, R.Faber i B. Murphy, Skala Postaw Rodzicielskich by M. Plopa and Arkusz Personalny of my own authorship. As much as 32% of the examined teenagers were characterised as timid. According to the research, they describe their parents (both mothers and fathers) as overly accepting and bestowing autonomy upon them. The results show that parents fully accept their children and are very helpful and protective. This tendency of parental attitude concerns teenagers who do not show characteristic features of timidity.
