Ukraina za rządów prezydenta Wiktora Janukowycza

Abstract

Praca opisuje prezydenturę Wiktora Janukowycza na Ukrainie oraz jej tragiczne skutki dla narodu ukraińskiego. W pracy zastanawiano się nad czynnikami, jakie doprowadziły do gwałtownego zwrotu w polityce zagranicznej Wiktora Janukowycza z kierunku prozachodniego na prorosyjski. Podjęto także refleksję na temat przyszłości naszego wschodniego sąsiada zadając pytanie czy Ukraina będzie się stopniowo reformować i zbliżać do członkostwa w UE i NATO czy znowu za jakiś czas obierze kierunek prorosyjski? W pracy skoncentrowano się na najnowszej historii Ukrainy analizując okres od stycznia 2010 r. do marca 2014 r. Praca przedstawia przebieg prezydentury Wiktora Janukowycza oraz powiązań ówczesnych władz z oligarchami, którzy mają ogromny wpływ na ukraińską politykę od lat 90-tych XX wieku. W pracy przedstawiono relację Ukrainy z Rosją i Unią Europejską w latach 2010-2014. Praca przedstawia także przebieg rewolucji z początku 2014 r., która doprowadziła do obalenia przez opozycję ekipy prezydenta Janukowycza. W wyniku rewolucji niekorzystnej dla władz w Moskwie Federacja Rosyjska dokonała aneksji Krymu. W wyniku inwazji wojsk rosyjskich na Ukrainie Świat Zachodni stanął na krawędzi wojny informacyjnej zwanej także hybrydową między Rosją a Zachodem. Czy grozi nam nowa zimna wojna? Jakie będą jej konsekwencję? Próba odpowiedzi na te trudne ale ciekawe pytania przed nami.

The thesis describes the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych in Ukraine and its tragic consequences for the Ukrainian nation. The factors are discussed which led to a rapid shift in Viktor Yanukovych’s foreign policy, from the pro-western to the pro-Russian one. Furthermore, the issue of the future of our Eastern neighbour was tackled, by asking the following question: Will there be a gradual reform in Ukraine and will this country come closer to NATO and EU membership or will it take a pro-Russian direction once again? The thesis focused on Ukraine’s most recent history, analyzing the period from January 2010 till March 2014. There is a presentation of Viktor Yanukovych’s presidency the connection which at that time the authorities had with oligarchs, who have exerted an enormous influence on the Ukrainian politics since 1990s. The thesis discusses the relationship between Ukraine and Russia and between Ukraine and the EU in years 2010-2014. It also presents the course of the revolution from the beginning of 2014, which led to overthrowing of President Yanukovych’s crew by the opposition. As a result of the revolution which was disadvantageous for the authorities in Moscow Crimea was annexed by the Russian Federation. The invasion of the Russian troops in Ukraine the West was on the brink of the information war, which was also called the hybrid war between Russia and the West. Are we facing the threat of a new cold war and what will be its consequences? This question remains open.
