This work deals with the problem of self-promotion of the smallest companies on a local market- the promotional actions taken by them and their effectiveness as well as the way they attempt to meet the customers’ expectations.
The research was conducted among six microenterprises registered in Muszyna through direct interviews with their owners and questionnaires conducted among 100 inhabitants of the commune. The number of questionnaires per one particular town was established in accordance with the statistical number of inhabitants.
Five companies which participated in the research deal or dealt with providing the service in the fields of selling, tutoring, photography, car washing, gastronomy, hotel managing and production.
The results of the research showed that the main factor deciding about the choice of a particular offer made by the inhabitants is a low price. Although in some cases- e.g. the choice of tutoring or furniture ordering- quality and good opinion of the bidder is taken into account more. Another conclusion is that in this small community information is usually heard through a grapevine- it is often enough to mark the place distinctively so as the information about offered services or products is quickly passed to a wide range of potential customers. The thesis also presents a detailed description of the attitude and expectations of potential customers toward the services provided by the microenterprises mentioned in the work.
