Postawy studentów studiów humanistycznych i ścisłych wobec osób niepełnosprawnych

Abstract

Zasadniczym celem podjętych badań empirycznych w niniejszej pracy jest próba określenia postaw studentów studiów humanistycznych i ścisłych wobec osób niepełnosprawnych. Rozbudowując niniejszy cel badań, należy zaznaczyć, iż podjęto próbę sprawdzenia jakie emocje i zachowania towarzyszą przyjmowaniu danej postawy, zbadano poziom wiedzy dotyczącej problematyki niepełnosprawności oraz wpływ kierunku studiów na wykazywane postawy. W celu odpowiedzi na pytania i weryfikację postawionych hipotez jako metodę badawczą zastosowano skalę postaw, techniką badawczą była skala Likerta, a narzędziem kwestionariusz własnej konstrukcji. Badania przeprowadzono wśród przypadkowych studentów przełomem maja i czerwca 2014 r. Założone hipotezy okazały się słuszne, z wyjątkiem kilku zmiennych, które nie mają związku ze różnicowaniem postaw studentów humanistycznych i ścisłych. Dokonane analizy statystyczne wykazały, że kierunek studiów różnicuje postawy badanych studentów wobec niepełnosprawnych członków społeczeństwa, zarówno w zakresie ogólnej postawy jak i poszczególnych komponentów. Studenci humanistyczni w porównaniu z młodzieżą akademicką studiującą na kierunkach technicznych/ścisłych charakteryzują się przychylniejszą postawą wobec osób niepełnosprawnych oraz dysponują znacznie szerszą wiedzą dotyczącą problematyki niepełnosprawności, legitymują się bardziej pozytywnym nastawieniem emocjonalnym oraz chętniej deklarują pomoc i otwartość wobec inwalidów w różnych trudnych sytuacjach społecznych.

The main objective of the empirical research in this study is an attempt to define students’ attitudes towards disabled persons. It should be emphasized that detailed objectives of this study created an attempt to check which emotions and behavior accompany each concrete attitude. The level of knowledge on the issues of disability and influence of specialization on the demonstrated attitudes has been thoroughly examined. Aiming to find answers and to verify formulated hypotheses, a scale of attitudes has been used as a scientific method; Likert’s scale has been used as a scientific technique, and a questionnaire of own construction has been used as a tool. The research has been carried out among random group of students in May and June 2014. The hypotheses turned out to be legitimate, with the exception of some variables that were not related to diversification of the attitudes of humanistic and science studies students. The statistical analysis has shown that specialization in studies diversifies the attitudes of examined students towards disabled members of the society, both in overall attitude and its individual components. Humanities students seem to be well-disposed towards disabled persons and have broader knowledge of disability problems; they have more positive emotional attitude, more willingly offer help and are more open towards disabled in many difficult social situations than science studies students.
