Outlining the theoretical background, the article discusses the nature and scope of military outsourcing. Then the development of military outsourcing market is analysed. In its empirical part, the paper identifies the outcomes and lessons learned from the implementation of contracting-out program in the Polish Armed Forces. Finally it attempts to forecast prospects for the further development of military outsourcing.
