W badaniach podjęto próbę sportretowania lokalnego społeczeństwa – młodych ludzi, którym obce są realia komunistycznej Polski, ponieważ urodzili się lub dorastali w okresie transformacji ustrojowej. Celem niniejszej pracy było udzielenie odpowiedzi na pytania: Jakie wartości preferują badani? Jak prezentuje się hierarchia tych wartości? oraz Od jakich czynników zależy struktura wyznawanych przez respondentów wartości? W badaniach posłużono się metoda sondażu diagnostycznego, stosując technikę samodzielnie opracowanej ankiety. Analizie poddano hierarchie wartości 160 osób z Nowego Sącza i pobliskich miejscowości. Badana grupa stanowi jedynie mały wycinek młodego pokolenia powiatu nowosądeckiego, ale mimo tego zarysowuje się pewien spójny, charakterystyczny dla wszystkich badanych obraz hierarchii wartości. Pierwsze pozycje zajmują wartości tradycyjne takie jak: rodzina, wiara, miłość, zdrowie. Z kolei ostatnie miejsca należą do wartości związanych z polityka i sprawowaniem władzy. Wykształcenie, praca, kariera i wartości materialne plasują się w środkowej części hierarchii wartości.The paper shows the hierarchy of values and internal potential of the young generation which inhabits the region of the Nowosądecki administrative district. The study attempted to show the local community - young people who are unfamiliar with the realities of the communist Poland, because they were born or grew up already during the transition. The aim of this study was to answer the following questions: What values do the respondents prefer? What is the hierarchy of their values? and What factors determine the structure of the values of the respondents? In the study, a diagnostic survey method has been used based on the questionnaire developed by the author. The author analyzed hierarchies of the values of 160 respondents from the city of Nowy Sącz and nearby localities. The sample studied represents only a small part of the younger generation in the Nowosądecki administrative district, but still a consistent hierarchy of values, specific for all the persons studied has been discovered. The first positions in this hierarchy are traditional values such as family, faith, love, health. The last places among the values are related to politics and governance.
