Redistribution of public resources directed towards the convergence process, also in the aspect of innovation co-financing, is considerably meaningful for supporting competitiveness on the medium-level (for individual sectors) and macro-level as well (for the entire economy). Financing of innovative projects is of great importance in carrying out effective state policies, including the innovation policy. The article focuses on the possibilities of providing financial support for innovations by application of various types of public aid.
