Praca ma charakter teoretyczno – empiryczny. Podjęty program badawczy skupiony jest na analizie związków jakie zachodzą pomiędzy agresją a obrazem siebie. Badaniami objęto 123 uczniów klas licealnych w wieku od 16 – 18 lat. W badaniu wykorzystano następujące testy psychologiczne: Tennessee Skala Obrazu Siebie (TSCS), Fitts'a, Kwestionariusz Agresji Bussy'ego i Perry'ego oraz Arkusz personalny własnej konstrukcji. Analiza statystyczna i psychologiczna danych empirycznych pozwoliła na potwierdzenie jednej hipotezy oaz sformułowanie wniosków końcowych. Młodzież o niskim poziomie agresji w porównaniu z młodzieżą o wysokim poziomie agresji posiada mniejszą samokontrolę. Oznacza to, iż osoby z niskim poziomem agresji cechują się pozytywnym obrazem siebie. Uzyskane dane wskazują, iż adolescenci z niskim poziomem agresji przejawiają większą rozbieżność niż badani z wysokim poziomem agresji w zakresie zewnętrznych wymiarów obrazu siebie. Młodzież z niskim poziomem agresji lepiej funkcjonuje w czterech wymiarach zewnętrznych obrazu siebie, czyli w wymiarze „Ja” moralno-etycznym, „Ja” osobistym, „Ja” rodzinnym oraz „Ja” społecznym. Uzyskany materiał empiryczny pozwolił na weryfikację przyjętych w pracy hipotez. Powiązania jakie zostały stwierdzone mogą być wykorzystane w pracy psychologicznej i pedagogicznej z młodzieżą szkolną. |

The current study is grounded in theory and empirical research. The primary interest was to examine the relationship between aggression and self-image. There were 123 secondary school students between 16-18 years of age that participated in the current study. The following methods were employed to verify the hypotheses: Tennesse Self-Concept (TSCS) by Fitts and Hosility- Guilt Inventory by Buss and Perry as well a demographic questionnaire. The results were statistically analyzed, psychologically interpreted and conclusions were drawn. Only one hypotheses was confirmed and supported. Adolescents with a low level of aggression reported lower levels of self-control. This suggests that less aggressive adolescents hold a more positive self-image of themselves. The emergent findings also indicate large variability between high and low aggressive adolescents’ and the internal dimensions of self-image. Less aggressive adolescents are said to function better on four internal dimensions of self-image: “I” moral and ethical, “I” personal, “I” family and “I” social. The verification of hypotheses and implications drawn can be applied within psychological practice and education with secondary school students. |
