Abstract:
The main aim of the thesis is to examine the efficiency of mutual funds available
on the Polish financial market. General information about Investment Fund Corporations and fund selection depending on investment style is presented along with an explanation of the origins and history of mutual funds, and the development process that has been taking place in Poland. The author scrutinizes the strength of the fund-market in Poland as a part of the European mutual fund market and illustrates the actual situation of the mutual-fund market in Poland. Each Investment Fund Corporation is pointed and described, analyzing its shareholder-board and the potential Polish capital invested. Fund portfolio structures, risk and
methods of rivalry among fund management companies are examined. The author presents mutual fund long-term performance reports, exploring the efficiency of fund management, measured by the rate of return and a comparison of top funds to other optional investments.
