Uprzedzenia i stereotypy przyczyną konfliktów między narodami Europy

Abstract

W życiu zarówno jednostek jak i społeczeństw spotykamy się z różnego rodzaju uprzedzeniami. Mają one różnorakie podłoża. W swojej pracy staram się udowodnić, że uprzedzenia i stereotypy funkcjonujące w społeczeństwie są przyczyną sytuacji konfliktowych wśród narodów nie tylko Europy. Analizując literaturę można wyciągnąć wniosek, że zjawiska te istnieją i funkcjonują od zarania dziejów. Przegląd wydarzeń historycznych jest dowodem na to, do czego prowadzi korzystanie z gotowej, nie sprawdzonej wiedzy na temat danego narodu, osoby bądź zjawiska. Badania empiryczne, przeprowadzone na dwóch, różnych grupach społecznych pokazują pokłady niewiedzy na temat innych ludzi funkcjonujące w środowisku człowieka. Dowodzą również, że wykształcenie, wiek czy stanowisko pracy nie jest powodem do eliminacji postawy nietolerancji i kierowania się stereotypowym myśleniem. Wyniki badań są zwieńczeniem założeń tej pracy i pozytywną weryfikacją hipotezy sformułowanej w stwierdzeniu, że „konflikty między narodami Europy są wywołane w znacznej mierze przez uprzedzenia i stereotypy, które funkcjonując w społeczeństwie negatywnie wpływają na stosunki między odmiennymi kulturowo i wyznaniowo narodowościami”.

In the life of both individuals and societies we meet with prejudices of different kind. These phenomena have diverse bases. In this thesis I am going to prove that prejudices and stereotypes occurring in the society cause conflicting situations among the nations not only in Europe but all over the world. Analyzing the literature we can conclude that these phenomena exist and function in the human environment since the dawn of time. The review of historical events is the proof, what can be caused by using the ready, not checked knowledge about the nation, a person or a phenomenon. Empirical research, conducted on two, different social groups shows how much ignorance about other people exists in human environment. There are also a proof, that the education, the age or a workplace isn't a reason for the elimination the attitude of the intolerance and being pointed with stereotyped thinking. The results of the research are the culmination of this thesis and the positive verification of the hypothesis included in the statement that “the conflicts between the nations of Europe are caused mainly by prejudices and stereotypes that functioning in society have a bad influence on relations between culturally and religiously different nationalities”.
