The theme of the study is creative thinking and creative problem solving in the company. The primary objective of the empirical research is to answer the question of whether creative problem solving using heuristic methods can be effective in a company belonging to the SME sector, where most of the staff are manual workers, and whether such methods adopt in a small manufacturing company.
The main hypotheses posed in the study:
- methods of creative problem solving can be an effective tool to overcome the problematic situation in the company of micro sector, small and medium-sized enterprises,
-employees appointed to the team that solves the problem using the creative method need not have experience in the use of heuristic methods to creatively work as a team to achieve the objective.
The study, based on which verification of hypotheses have been carried out in November 2014 in the "MARTOM" company in Gorlice, where heuristic methods (brainstorming 635 and by crushing facility) have developed possible solutions to two problems identified in the company.
Analysing the results of the research, it can be concluded that both hypotheses posed in the work are true. With the appropriate commitment of all parties, openness, trust and awareness that all joint activities are carried out for the benefit of all - employees, owners and customers, heuristics methods can be a great tool for supporting the staff and management of a small business in solving its problems.
