The study aimed to verify differences in individuals with high sensory processing sensitivity (measured with the HSPS-10 scale) in terms of cognitive functioning, particularly working memory performance (measured with the Corsi n-back task) and susceptibility to arousal (measured with the Thayer Activation–Deactivation Adjective Check List). The study was based on sensory processing sensitivity (SPS) expanded by E. N. Aron theory of high sensory-processing sensitivity (HSPS). Participants watched an original video designed to induce either low or high stimulation and subsequently assessed their level of arousal. After confirming that the assumptions of the ANOVA statistical test were met, the results indicated that individuals with high sensory-processing sensitivity (HSPS) exhibited lower levels of arousal under low-stimulation conditions and higher levels under high-stimulation conditions, particularly in the dimensions of general activation and high activation. The study showed that SPS may be linked to arousal but is not directly associated with working memory performance.en_US
