Zasadniczy zrąb pracy stanowi jakościowa analiza materiałów zastanych, obejmująca adaptację i reinterpretację opisów klinicznych dostępnych w literaturze naukowej. Analiza winiet klinicznych pozwoliła na zilustrowanie założeń teoretycznych, wskazując, że profil farmakologiczny wybieranej substancji wykazuje spójność z profilem trudności neuropsychologicznych pacjenta. Artykuł akcentuje znaczenie wczesnej diagnozy i celowanej farmakoterapii ADHD jako kluczowych składowych profilaktyki wtórnych zaburzeń używania substancji.pl
The aim of this article is to analyze the relationship between Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Substance Use Disorders (SUD) through the lens of specific executive function deficits. The theoretical framework comprises a selective literature review from 1997 to 2025, focusing on neurobiological compensatory mechanisms and the characteristics of the Polish psychiatric healthcare system. The Self-Medication Hypothesis and the Reward Deficiency Syndrome model serve as the primary conceptual frameworks. The qualitative analysis is based on existing documentary data, involving the adaptation and reinterpretation of clinical case reports from the scientific literature. The examination of clinical vignettes illustrates theoretical assumptions, demonstrating that the pharmacological profile of the chosen substance corresponds with the patient's neuropsychological deficits. The paper highlights the vital role of early diagnosis and targeted pharmacotherapy for ADHD as essential preventive measures against secondary substance use disorders.en_US
