The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the temperament traits of early school-age children and their preferences regarding English language teaching methods. The study employed a quantitative research design and was conducted in a primary school among 102 children aged 7 to 10 years. Temperament was assessed using the EAS Temperament Survey developed by A. H. Buss and R. Plomin and completed by the participants’ parents. Preferences for English language learning methods were examined using a questionnaire designed by the author. The results indicate that temperament may play a role in determining preferred English language learning methods. More active students were more likely to prefer activating teaching methods, whereas higher levels of shyness were associated with a lower preference for such methods. No statistically significant relationships were found between emotionality or sociability and preferences regarding teaching methods. The participants generally preferred activating methods over traditional ones. Furthermore, the hypothesis concerning gender differences in preferred English language learning methods was not confirmed. The findings suggest that teachers should consider individual student characteristics when planning lessons and flexibly adapt teaching methods to learners’ needs and preferences.en
