Celem pracy było określenie związku pomiędzy poziomem odczuwanego stresu a preferowanymi strategiami radzenia sobie z sytuacjami trudnymi w grupie młodych dorosłych. Badania przeprowadzono z wykorzystaniem Kwestionariusza Radzenia Sobie w Sytuacjach Stresowych (CISS), Skali Stresu Holmesa i Rahe’a oraz autorskiego arkusza personalnego.
This paper analyzes the relationship between stress levels and coping strategies among young adults. The theoretical section presents basic definitions of stress, selected theoretical concepts explaining its mechanisms, sources, and effects, and discusses stress coping strategies and factors influencing their selection. Considerable attention is paid to the specific functioning of young adults undergoing periods of intense change. The aim of this paper was to determine the relationship between perceived stress levels and preferred coping strategies among young adults. The study was conducted using the Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS), the Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale, and a proprietary personal questionnaire. The obtained results allowed for an analysis of dominant stress coping styles and an assessment of their relationship with the level of psychological strain experienced. The analyses indicate that stress coping is a significant factor influencing the psychological functioning of young adults. The research findings may be useful in preventive and educational activities aimed at strengthening psychological competencies and developing effective methods for coping with stress.en
