The aim of this study is to analyze how mothers of chronically ill and children with high care needs experience stress and anxiety, as well as how they cope with these challenges in their daily lives. The experience of a child’s chronic illness is one of the most difficult situations for parents, and research indicates that caregivers of children with disabilities are more likely to experience increased levels of stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms. This study focuses particularly on mothers, who are most often the primary caregivers and bear the greatest responsibility for the child’s daily functioning. As a result, they are more exposed to emotional burden and difficulties related to both caregiving and upbringing. The aim of the study  is to deepen the understanding of coping mechanisms used by mothers in dealing with stress and anxiety, as well as to better identify their psychological needs. The findings may contribute to the development of more effective forms of psychological support for this group. The study employs qualitative methods, including in-depth interviews and observation, as well as standardized psychological tools: the Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS), the Perceived Stress Questionnaire (KPS), and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). The research group consists of five mothers of chronically ill and dependent children, each facing different medical conditions, which allows for a diverse analysis of their experiences.en
