Dodatkowo analizowano związki pomiędzy stresem a poczuciem sensu życia, strategiami radzenia sobie a nasileniem stresu oraz relacje pomiędzy strategiami radzenia sobie a poziomem sensu życia. W badaniu wykorzystano autorską metryczkę socjodemograficzną oraz standaryzowane narzędzia psychologiczne: Test Sensu Życia PLT (Purpose in Life Test), Kwestionariusz Mini-COPE oraz Kwestionariusz DASS-21. Osoby odczuwające większy sens i cel życia wykazywały lepsze funkcjonowanie psychiczne.
The aim of this master’s thesis was to examine the relationships between perceived stress levels, coping strategies, and the sense of meaning in life among adult Polish immigrants living in the Netherlands. Additionally, the study analyzed the relationships between stress and sense of meaning in life, coping strategies and stress intensity, as well as the associations between coping strategies and the level of meaning in life. Selected sociodemographic variables, such as age, gender, length of stay in the Netherlands, and employment status, were also taken into account. The study was conducted using a quantitative research method between January and March 2026 among 100 adult Polish immigrants living in the Netherlands. A convenience sampling method was applied. The research tools included an original sociodemographic questionnaire and standardized psychological instruments: the Purpose in Life Test (PIL), the Mini-COPE Inventory, and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21). The results indicated that a higher sense of meaning in life was associated with lower levels of stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms. Individuals who perceived their lives as meaningful and purposeful demonstrated better psychological functioning. Significant positive relationships were also found between the sense of freedom and responsibility and the use of adaptive coping strategies, such as active coping, planning, and seeking emotional support. Women slightly more often than men used active and diverse coping strategies. No significant relationships were found between age or length of stay abroad and the levels of stress or sense of meaning in life. The findings suggest that among all analyzed factors, the sense of meaning in life was the most important predictor of perceived stress levels.en
