This thesis focuses on the issue of stress and coping strategies among adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The topic is particularly relevant due to the increasing number of ADHD diagnoses among adults and the impact of ADHD symptoms on psychosocial, occupational, and emotional functioning. The theoretical part of the thesis discusses the characteristics of ADHD in adulthood, with particular emphasis on diagnostic criteria, clinical presentation, psychosocial functioning, and the consequences of the disorder in personal and professional life. It also presents the concept of stress, including its major definitions, theories, sources, and effects on mental health and individual functioning. Furthermore, coping strategies and their role in adaptation to challenging situations are described. The aim of the study was to determine the level of perceived stress and the coping strategies used by adults with ADHD, as well as to examine the relationships between these variables. It was assumed that the specific characteristics of ADHD may influence both the level of stress experienced and the choice of coping strategies in difficult situations. The findings contribute to a better understanding of how adults with ADHD cope with stress and highlight the importance of individual psychological resources in adapting to everyday demands and challenges. The results may provide a basis for further research as well as for the development of psychoeducational and supportive interventions for adults with ADHD.
