Celem pracy była ocena związku pomiędzy cechami osobowości a poziomem lęku oraz weryfikacja moderującej roli centralności religijności w relacji między neurotycznością a lękiem u kobiet wyznania rzymskokatolickiego. W badaniu wzięło udział 195 kobiet powyżej 26. roku życia, a 126 z nich spełniło kryteria włączenia w badania.
The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between personality traits and anxiety levels and to verify the moderating role of centrality of religiosity in the relationship between neuroticism and anxiety among Roman Catholic women. . A total of 195 women over the age of 26 participated in the study, of whom 126 met the inclusion criteria. The NEO-FFI Personality Inventory, the State–Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), and the Centrality of Religiosity Scale (CRS/C-15) were administered. Statistical analyses were conducted using Spearman’s rho correlations and moderation analysis with the PROCESS macro for IBM SPSS Statistics. The results confirmed a significant positive relationship between neuroticism and anxiety, as well as significant negative relationships between extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and anxiety. However, the moderating role of the centrality of religiosity in the relationship between neuroticism and anxiety was not confirmed. A weak moderation effect was observed only for the relationship between openness to experience and anxiety. The findings indicate that religiosity does not buffer the impact of neuroticism on anxiety among the studied women.
