Niniejsza praca podejmuje problematykę autoprezentacji cyfrowej w kontekście aplikacji randkowej Tinder oraz jej związku z postrzeganą wiarygodnością użytkowników i deklarowanymi intencjami relacyjnymi.
This study examines the issue of digital self-presentation in the context of the dating app Tinder and its relationship to users’ perceived credibility and stated relationship intentions. Contemporary interpersonal relationships are increasingly initiated in the digital space, where first impressions are formed primarily on the basis of photos, profile descriptions, and the way users present themselves. Tinder, as one of the most popular dating apps based on visual communication and rapid partner selection, creates unique conditions for image creation and the management of one’s social attractiveness. This paper presents the theoretical foundations and definitions related to self-presentation, interpersonal communication, and the functioning of online relationships. It discusses the psychological mechanisms of creating a digital identity, the importance of first impressions, and the influence of physical attractiveness and presented content on the assessment of a user’s credibility. Particular attention is devoted to the specific nature of dating apps as a social environment in which users select potential partners based on a limited amount of information. The empirical part of the study focuses on analyzing the relationship between the type of content presented on Tinder and the level of perceived credibility, as well as the assessment of users’ relational intentions. The study was conducted using selected psychological tools and original research materials based on an analysis of Tinder user profiles.en
