Społeczność żydowska była ważną częścią wielokulturowej mozaiki narodowościowej Sądecczyzny. Celem mojej pracy było zaprezentowanie w skrócie historii sądeckich Żydów w latach 1918 – 1939 oraz ich wkład w dziedzictwo historyczne Sądecczyzny. Przekrojowo zaprezentowałam wewnętrzne zróżnicowanie społeczności żydowskiej oraz jej relacje z pozostałymi mieszkańcami powiatu. To właśnie te odmienności stanowiły interesującą, różnorodną i wielobarwną kulturę Ziemi Sądeckiej. Żydzi bardzo dobrze uzupełniali te dziedziny życia, w których ciężko było się odnaleźć pozostałym mieszkańcom powiatu. Życie kilku narodowości obok siebie – polskiej, żydowskiej, niemieckiej oraz łemkowskiej – w latach 1918 – 1939 charakteryzowała w miarę zgodna symbioza, pomimo dość dużego zróżnicowania wewnętrznego, a także nie zawsze przyjaznych stosunków pozostałej ludności.
The Jewish community was an important part of the multicultural mosaic of nationalities of Sądecczyzna. The purpose of my work is to present a brief history of Nowy Sącz Jews in the years 1918 - 1939 and their contribution to the historical heritage of Sądecczyzna. I have reviewed the internal differentiation of the Jewish community and its relations with the other residents of the county. These differences were a part of an interesting, diverse and multi-colored culture of Sądecczyzna. Jews successfully completed those areas of life where it was hard to find other residents of the county. Co-habitation of several nationalities - Polish, Jewish, German and Lemko - in the years 1918 - 1939 - was characterized by a consistent symbiosis, despite relatively large internal differences, and not always friendly relations with the remaining population.
