Trzy modele regresji, obejmujące reaktywność emocjonalną, wytrzymałość i perseweratywność, istotnie wyjaśniały zróżnicowanie nasilenia stylów zadaniowego, emocjonalnego i unikowego, przy czym interpretację pojedynczych współczynników ograniczała wysoka współliniowość predyktorów.
The aim of the study was to determine the relationships between temperament traits, conceptualised within Jan Strelau's Regulative Theory of Temperament, and coping styles described in Endler and Parker's model among young adults. The study was conducted using the diagnostic survey method in a group of 107 individuals in early adulthood, with the FCZ-KT(R) and CISS questionnaires, and the hypotheses were verified by means of correlation analyses and multiple regression. Perseveration proved to be the trait most strongly and most consistently related to the emotion-oriented coping style, whereas the positive association between emotional reactivity and this style was only partially confirmed. Contrary to expectations, endurance was negatively related to the task-oriented style. Three regression models, comprising emotional reactivity, endurance and perseveration, significantly explained the variance of the task-oriented, emotion-oriented and avoidance-oriented styles, although the interpretation of individual coefficients was limited by high collinearity of the predictors. The results confirm that temperament is one of the factors differentiating ways of coping with stress in young adults and support combining the temperamental perspective with the transactional model of stress. Implications for psychological practice and directions for further research were also formulated.
