Wykazano istotne zależności pomiędzy nasileniem agresji a wzrostem poziomu stresu i wybranymi wymiarami wypalenia zawodowego.
Aggression exhibited by residents of social welfare homes is one of the key factors affecting the psychological functioning of staff working in these institutions. The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between the frequency of experienced aggression and levels of stress, burnout, sense of psychological safety, and coping strategies. The study was conducted using a diagnostic survey method among 100 employees of social welfare homes, with the use of an original aggression scale (ASDAM-DPS), the Perceived Stress Questionnaire (KPS), Mini-COPE, and the LBQ. The results indicate that the respondents experience aggression at a moderate level, while also demonstrating elevated levels of stress and symptoms of burnout. Significant relationships were found between the intensity of aggression and increased stress levels, as well as selected dimensions of burnout. Differences in the coping strategies used by participants were also observed. The findings suggest that frequent exposure to aggression may lower employees’ sense of psychological safety and contribute to the development of burnout. The results highlight the need for support measures aimed at staff working in social welfare homes.
