Badania przeprowadzono wśród 100 dzieci przebywających w rodzinnej i instytucjonalnej pieczy zastępczej.
This thesis concerns the relationship between the level of anxiety and stress coping strategies among children placed in foster care. The aim of the study was to determine whether there is a relationship between the intensity of anxiety and the coping strategies chosen by children aged 10 to 14 living in foster care. The study was conducted among 100 children staying in both family-based and institutional foster care. The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children (STAIC) and the Stress Coping Strategies Questionnaire (JSR) were used in the study. The analysis of the results demonstrated the existence of a relationship between the level of anxiety and the coping strategies used by the children. Children with higher levels of anxiety more frequently chose emotional and support-seeking strategies, while less often using active coping strategies. The obtained results indicate that the experiences of children living in foster care may affect their emotional functioning and their ways of reacting to difficult situations. The findings may be useful in planning support activities for children placed in foster care.
