This thesis analyzes the issue of occupational stress among teachers working in inclusive classrooms, with particular emphasis on the importance of emotional intelligence in coping with occupational stress. The aim of the study was to identify sources of occupational stress, determine its consequences for teachers' professional and personal functioning, and identify the strategies they employ to cope with stress. The study was conducted using a case study approach involving five female teachers working in inclusive education. Data were collected through interviews and standardized research instruments: the Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS), the Stress Perception Questionnaire (KPS) and the Popular Questionnaire of Emotional Intelligence (PKIE). The results indicate that the main sources of occupational stress include challenging student behavior, difficulties in working with parents, and administrative and organizational overload. Stress negatively impacts both the professional and personal functioning of the participating teachers. The results also suggest that effective coping with stress may be related to preferred adaptive strategies and the level of emotional intelligence, particularly in the area of emotion regulation. The findings emphasize the importance of developing teachers’ emotional competences and the need to strengthen systemic forms of support in integrated education.en
