Istotne różnice ujawniły się natomiast w grupie osób DDA stosujących techniki samoregulacyjne - osiągały one wyższy poziom inteligencji emocjonalnej i samoświadomości emocjonalnej, a liczba stosowanych technik dodatnio korelowała z dobrostanem psychicznym.
The thesis addresses the development of emotional competencies in individuals with the Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACA) syndrome, analyzing the significance of emotional self-awareness, emotion regulation, and the use of therapeutic techniques for psychological well-being. The aim of the study was to examine the relationships between the experience of growing up in a family with alcohol-related problems and the levels of well-being, self-esteem, emotional intelligence, and emotional self-awareness, as well as to determine whether engaging in conscious work on emotions and the body serves a protective function. The study employed a self-developed survey including the SES Self-Esteem Scale, the INTE Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire, and an original questionnaire concerning the use of regulation techniques. The results indicated that the experience of growing up in an alcoholic family did not significantly differentiate levels of well-being, self-esteem, or emotional intelligence. However, significant differences emerged among ACA individuals who applied self-regulation techniques-they demonstrated higher levels of emotional intelligence and emotional self-awareness, and the number of techniques used positively correlated with psychological well-being. Emotional self-awareness proved to be a significant predictor of mental health. The findings suggest that active work on emotions and the body may serve both compensatory and developmental functions in individuals with ACA experience.en
