Badania ilościowe przeprowadzono metodą papier–ołówek, następnie dane zostały wprowadzone do programu Excel, a dalsza analiza statystyczna została wykonana z wykorzystaniem programu Statistica. Kryterium włączenia do badania stanowi płeć żeńska oraz doświadczenie straty dziecka. Część teoretyczna pracy obejmuje dwa rozdziały teoretyczne oraz dwa empiryczne.
The main aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between the level of social support and the types of coping strategies used in dealing with miscarriage loss, as well as their impact on the intensity of grief experienced. The specific objectives of the study include determining the relationship between the level of social support and the intensity of grief following miscarriage, analyzing the relationship between coping strategies and the level of experienced grief, and examining the interrelationships between social support, coping strategies, and grief intensity. Furthermore, the study aims to compare the impact of emotional support from a partner and family on the level of grief, as well as to identify differences in experienced grief and coping strategies between women who have children and those who are childless. The study employed a triangulation method, using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Within the quantitative method (a group of at least 30 women meeting the inclusion criteria), standardized research tools were used: the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), the Perinatal Grief Scale (PGS), and the Mini-COPE Inventory. Within the qualitative approach, in-depth interviews (IDI) were conducted with five women based on a prepared interview scenario, which allowed for the collection of more detailed and qualitative data regarding the participants’ individual experiences. The quantitative study was conducted using a paper-and-pencil method; subsequently, the data were entered into Excel, and further statistical analysis was performed using Statistica software. The inclusion criterion for the study was female gender and the experience of child loss. The theoretical part of the thesis consists of two chapters, while the empirical part includes two additional chapters.
