Związek przebytej traumy a trudności w budowaniu relacji interpersonalnych u kobiet powyżej 40 roku życia - studium przypadku

Abstract

Związek między doświadczeniem przebytej traumy a trudnościami w relacjach interpersonalnych, jest dobrze udokumentowany w literaturze naukowej. Jednak wyniki dotychczasowych badań są niejednoznaczne, a perspektywa jakościowa skupiająca się na indywidualnych doświadczeniu kobiet w średnim wieku pozostaje stosunkowo rzadko eksplorowana. Celem niniejszej pracy było zbadanie, czy i w jaki sposób przeżyta trauma wpływa na jakość relacji interpersonalnych u dorosłych kobiet powyżej czterdziestego roku życia, z uwzględnieniem stylu przywiązania, regulacji emocji, oraz dobrostanu społecznego jako możliwych obszarów trudności. Przeprowadzono studium przypadku z udziałem 6 kobiet powyżej 40 roku życia, u których w wywiadzie stwierdzono doświadczenie traumy. Zastosowano pogłębiony wywiad kliniczny, prowadzony zgodnie z arkuszem obserwacyjnym według Tucholskiej. Jak również zrewidowany inwentarz osobowości NEO PI-R, kwestionariusz stylów przywiązania Mieczyslawa Plopy (KSP) oraz autorską ankietę własną obejmującą cztery podskale jakimi były: trauma z dzieciństwa, relacje romantyczne, regulacja emocji i dobrostan społeczny. Dla każdej uczestniczki opracowano diagnozę funkcjonalną i sformułowano zalecenia. Wyniki okazały się wyraźnie zróżnicowane trzy badane uzyskały dominujący styl przywiązania lękowo - ambiwalentny, a trzy z nich styl bezpieczny. Dwie spośród badanych funkcjonują w długotrwałych związkach małżeńskich. Obraz funkcjonowania badanych był zróżnicowany. Część z nich zmagała się z trudnościami w obszarze zaufania, bliskości i regulacji emocji, natomiast pozostałe radziły sobie skutecznie, co może wskazywać na obecność czynników ochronnych. Ograniczeniami badania jest mała i nielosowa próba oraz jakościowy charakter danych. Praca potwierdza, że trauma nie determinuje jednoznacznie jakości relacji interpersonalnych, co ma istotne implikacje dla praktyki psychoterapeutycznej.

The relationship between experienced trauma and difficulties in interpersonal relationships is well documented in the scientific literature. However, the findings of previous studies remain inconclusive, and the qualitative perspective focusing on the individual experiences of middle-aged women remains relatively underexplored. The aim of this study was to investigate whether and how experienced trauma affects the quality of interpersonal relationships among adult women over the age of forty, taking into account attachment style, emotion regulation, and social well-being as potential areas of difficulty. A case study was conducted involving six women over the age of 40 who, during interviews, were identified as having experienced trauma. An in-depth clinical interview was conducted in accordance with the observational framework developed by Tucholska. In addition, the revised NEO Personality Inventory (NEO PI-R), Mieczysław Plopa’s Attachment Styles Questionnaire (KSP), and a self-developed questionnaire were employed. The latter included four subscales: childhood trauma, romantic relationships, emotion regulation, and social well-being. A functional diagnosis was developed for each participant, and recommendations were formulated. The results proved to be clearly differentiated: three participants demonstrated a predominantly anxious-ambivalent attachment style, while the remaining three exhibited a secure attachment style.The participants’ overall functioning varied considerably. Some struggled with difficulties in the areas of trust, intimacy, and emotion regulation, whereas others coped effectively, which may indicate the presence of protective factors. The limitations of the study include a small, non-random sample and the qualitative nature of the data. The study confirms that trauma does not unequivocally determine the quality of interpersonal relationships, which has important implications for psychotherapeutic practice.
