Polish psychologists and psychotherapists increasingly encounter artificial intelligence (AI) in their own work and in patients' experiences, yet Polish quantitative data on specialists' attitudes towards AI have been scarce. The thesis examined specialists' attitudes, barriers and needs regarding AI in professional practice. The study used an online survey (CAWI) with 185 participants recruited through purposive and snowball sampling, employing the GAAIS scale, the UTAUT-AI-DMHI questionnaire, and original sections on barriers, experiences, needs, and two scenarios of AI presence. Attitudes proved cautiously positive but clearly conditional. The overall attitude was above the scale midpoint (GAAIS-Positive: M = 41.72; d = 0.62), with concerns about clinical risk (M = 4.24), data protection and ethical-legal responsibility outweighing fears of losing professional autonomy. Technological anxiety statistically mediated the link between digital competence and negative attitudes, while AI awareness was the strongest correlate of positive attitudes (ρ = .38). Acceptance of AI as a tool supporting the specialist's work clearly exceeded acceptance of AI as a "third party" in the therapeutic relationship; this preference concerned over 80% of the sample. Acceptance was governed above all by the role AI would play in clinical work.
