| dc.description.abstract | Praca poświęcona została analizie związków pomiędzy jakością snu, poziomem senności dziennej a nasileniem objawów lękowych u dzieci w wieku 10–14 lat. | pl |
| dc.description.abstract | This thesis focuses on the analysis of the relationship between sleep quality, daytime sleepiness, and the severity of anxiety symptoms in children aged 10–14 years. The primary aim of the study was to examine the relationship between sleep quality, daytime sleepiness, and the level of anxiety among children in late childhood and early adolescence. The study group consisted of 70 children aged 10–14 years. The following research tools were used: the Pediatric Daytime Sleepiness Scale (PDSS), the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and a demographic questionnaire completed by both the child and the parent. The results indicated that poorer sleep quality and higher levels of daytime sleepiness may coexist with greater severity of anxiety symptoms in children. The analysis of relationships between the variables showed that children experiencing sleep problems more often demonstrate emotional difficulties related to elevated anxiety levels. Both low sleep quality and excessive daytime sleepiness proved to be significant factors affecting the emotional functioning of the examined children. The obtained results are consistent with previous studies suggesting that sleep disturbances may negatively affect emotional regulation mechanisms and increase vulnerability to anxiety symptoms. Understanding the relationship between sleep and anxiety is important for developing effective preventive and psychoeducational interventions supporting the mental health of children and adolescents. Improving sleep quality and promoting proper sleep hygiene may constitute an important element in reducing emotional difficulties among children. This thesis contributes to expanding knowledge about the relationship between sleep and emotional functioning during the developmental period. The obtained results may provide a basis for further research and practical activities related to the prevention of emotional problems and sleep disorders among children and adolescents. | en |
