Wykorzystano Skalę Samooceny SES M. Rosenberga, Skalę Badania Samotności SBS–ADC Z. Dołęgi, Kwestionariusz Agresji Bussa i Perry’ego BPAQ oraz metryczkę własnego autorstwa. Potwierdzono dodatnie zależności pomiędzy poczuciem samotności, szczególnie emocjonalnej i egzystencjalnej, a nasileniem zachowań agresywnych.
This paper examines the relationship between self-esteem, feelings of loneliness, and aggressive behavior in youth social therapy center residents. The study explores the psychosocial determinants of functioning in youth at risk of social maladjustment and the importance of self-esteem and feelings of loneliness in the occurrence of aggressive behavior. The theoretical section is based on publications in psychology, pedagogy, and sociotherapy. The aim of the study is to determine the relationship between self-esteem, feelings of loneliness, and the severity of aggressive behavior in youth social therapy center residents. It was assumed that low self-esteem and high levels of loneliness may correlate with a greater severity of aggressive behavior. One hundred individuals aged 14 to 18 participated in the study. The study utilized the Self-Assessment Scale (SES) by M. Rosenberg, the Loneliness Assessment Scale (SBS–ADC) by Z. Dołęga, the Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire (BPAQ), and a self-designed questionnaire. Analysis of the results shows that the majority of participants have average self-esteem, experience loneliness, and exhibit a high level of aggressive behavior. Positive correlations were confirmed between feelings of loneliness, particularly emotional and existential loneliness, and the severity of aggressive behavior. The study also revealed a partial correlation between self-esteem and hostility. The collected data support the conclusion that feelings of loneliness are a significant factor associated with the severity of aggressive behavior in youth sociotherapy center residents. The study findings suggest the need to strengthen social relationships and emotional competencies and reduce feelings of loneliness.
