The aim of the thesis is to examine the psychological determinants of the attractiveness of criminals in the eyes of women, with particular emphasis on hybristophilia in the context of true crime culture. The theoretical section discusses mechanisms related to the need for emotional intensity, fantasies involving a “dangerous partner,” attachment styles, and the socio-media construction of the criminal as a charismatic or romanticized figure. The empirical study will be conducted as an online survey among adult women interested in true crime content. The results will make it possible to identify which offender traits and which individual predispositions of the respondents best predict the level of declared fascination. The findings may contribute to a deeper understanding of the appeal of “dark” figures and serve as a basis for further analysis on the impact of pop culture on relational preferences and patterns of fascination with violence.en
