The aim of this study was to analyze the level of illness acceptance and fear of disease progression among patients diagnosed with intracranial meningioma and to examine the relationship between these variables. The study was conducted among adult individuals with a confirmed diagnosis of meningioma who were either under active surveillance or had undergone surgical treatment and/or radiotherapy, using a quantitative research design. Standardized psychological instruments were applied: the Acceptance of Living with Illness Scale, the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI, X-1), and the Fear of Cancer Recurrence Inventory – Short Form (FCRI-SF), as well as a supplementary questionnaire concerning the course of the disease. Statistical analyses revealed varying levels of illness acceptance within the study group. With regard to fear of disease progression or recurrence, nearly half of the respondents obtained scores exceeding the threshold of clinical significance. A statistically significant negative correlation was found between illness acceptance and the intensity of fear of progression, with higher acceptance associated with lower levels of fear. The findings highlight the importance of psychological adaptation to illness as a protective factor in coping with concerns about health deterioration and emphasize the need for the long-term integration of psychological support in the care of patients with meningioma.en
