This study examines the relationship between mentalization and coping styles in adults. The sample consisted of 104 adults (82.7% women, aged 18–68, M = 39.12). The Mentalization Scale (MentS) and the Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS) were used. Results showed that self-related mentalization and other-related mentalization were positively associated with task-oriented coping, while self-related mentalization was negatively associated with emotion-oriented coping. The findings suggest that mentalization plays a significant role in shaping adaptive coping strategies.en
