Inteligencja emocjonalna, a korzystanie z mediów społecznościowych w populacji młodych dorosłych
Do pomiaru inteligencji emocjonalnej wykorzystano Kwestionariusz Inteligencji Emocjonalnej INTE, natomiast do oceny wybranych cech osobowości zastosowano Kwestionariusz Impulsywności IVE. Korzystanie z mediów społecznościowych analizowano przy użyciu autorskiego kwestionariusza ankiety. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują, że w badanej grupie występują istotne zależności pomiędzy inteligencją emocjonalną, a wybranymi aspektami korzystania z mediów społecznościowych, jednak mają one charakter złożony i niejednoznaczny.
The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the level of emotional intelligence and social media usage among young adults. Hypotheses were formulated assuming a relationship between the level of emotional intelligence, the intensity of social media usage, and their impact on the emotional functioning of the participants. The study was conducted using a diagnostic survey involving 111 participants aged 18–30. Emotional intelligence was measured using the INTE Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (INTE), while the Impulsivity Questionnaire (IVE) was used to assess selected personality traits. Social media use was analyzed using a proprietary survey questionnaire. The results indicate that in the study group, there are significant correlations between emotional intelligence and selected aspects of social media use, though these are complex and ambiguous. A higher level of emotional intelligence was associated with greater awareness of the impact of social media on one’s own emotions and with specific patterns of use, including more frequent use in selected situations. At the same time, it was not unequivocally confirmed that higher emotional intelligence reduces the intensity of social media use, the research results also indicate that individual emotion regulation strategies and levels of impulsivity are significant.
