Praca dotyczy zależności pomiędzy mechanizmami radzenia sobie a objawami kompleksowego zespołu stresu pourazowego u osoby dorosłej z doświadczeniem wczesnodziecięcej traumy.
This thesis examines the relationship between coping mechanisms and symptoms of complex post-traumatic stress disorder in an adult with a history of early childhood trauma. The main aim of the study was to explore the dominant coping strategies, patterns of emotion regulation, and their association with the current emotional, somatic and interpersonal functioning of the examined person. The research was conducted using a case study method, including a psychological interview, qualitative analysis and standardized psychometric tools, such as the COPE questionnaire and the KPS. The results indicate that the examined person uses coping mechanisms based mainly on cognitive control, avoidance, emotional suppression and limited use of social support. These strategies may have served a protective function in the context of chronic threat, but in adulthood they coexist with symptoms of emotional dysregulation, somatic tension, relational difficulties and symptoms characteristic of CPTSD. The conclusions emphasize the importance of comprehensive psychological assessment and the need to consider the developmental context when understanding the functioning of individuals affected by complex trauma.
