W części empirycznej przeprowadzono badania wśród uczestników Anonimowych Alkoholików z wykorzystaniem Kwestionariusza „Za i Przeciw” Ryszarda Cibora oraz wybranych narzędzi służących do oceny motywacji do leczenia i sposobów postrzegania uzależnienia.
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between motivation for addiction treatment among members of Alcoholics Anonymous and the anticipated rewards associated with overcoming alcohol addiction. The theoretical part discusses alcohol dependence, motivation for treatment, and the role of anticipated rewards in the recovery process. The empirical part presents the results of a study conducted among Alcoholics Anonymous participants using Ryszard Cibor’s „Pros and Cons Questionnaire” and selected instruments assessing treatment motivation and perceptions of addiction. The results indicate that readiness to seek interpersonal support, intrinsic motivation, understanding of one’s addiction and belief in treatment effectiveness play a significant role in the recovery process. The findings also show that denial may constitute an important barrier to treatment and reduce motivation to engage in therapeutic activities. The study confirms the importance of psychological and social factors in maintaining abstinence and highlights the need to strengthen treatment motivation among individuals with alcohol dependence. Keywords: alcohol dependence, treatment motivation, abstinence, Alcoholics Anonymous, anticipated rewards, recovery process.
