The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between proxemic behavior, personality traits, and anxiety levels in high school students. The theoretical section discussed issues related to proxemics, nonverbal communication, personality, and social anxiety in adolescents. The study was conducted among 100 high school students aged 16–19. The study utilized the NEO-FFI Personality Questionnaire, the STAI State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, and a proprietary questionnaire on interpersonal distance. The study results showed that higher anxiety levels were associated with a preference for greater interpersonal distance and greater discomfort in social situations. A relationship was also found between personality traits and proxemic behavior. More extroverted individuals preferred less interpersonal distance, while those with higher levels of neuroticism were more likely to require more personal space.
