Tożsamość kulturowa w ujęciu narracyjnym a prężność zaradcza, poczucie sensu w życiu i satysfakcja z życia u Polek mieszkających w Wielkiej Brytanii

Abstract

Tematem pracy jest sposób narracyjnego konstruowania tożsamości kulturowej w doświadczeniu migracyjnym. Celem badania jest analiza narracji sześciu Polek mieszkających w Wielkiej Brytanii oraz interpretacja badanych historii w kontekście prężności zaradczej, poczucia sensu w życiu i satysfakcji z życia. Praca ma charakter jakościowy, eksploracyjno-interpretacyjny i przyjmuje formę wielokrotnego studium przypadku. Część teoretyczna odwołuje się do literatury dotyczącej tożsamości narracyjnej i kulturowej, migracji, akulturacji, prężności, sensu w życiu i dobrostanu. Materiał empiryczny stanowią wywiady narracyjne, notatki obserwacyjne oraz pomocnicze wyniki Krótkiej Skali Prężności Zaradczej (BRCS), Kwestionariusza Sensu w Życiu (MLQ) i Skali Satysfakcji z Życia (SWLS). Analiza ukazuje, że w badanym materiale tożsamość kulturowa nie przyjmuje postaci prostego wyboru między polskością a brytyjskością, lecz wiąże się z miejscem życia, językiem, relacjami, pracą, pamięcią i przyszłością. Wyniki wskazują na zróżnicowane konfiguracje sprawczości, ambiwalencji, sensu i satysfakcji; cel pracy zostaje zrealizowany w zakresie pogłębionej interpretacji sześciu przypadków.The subject of the thesis is the narrative construction of cultural identity in the context of migration. The aim of the study is to analyse the narratives of six Polish women living in the United Kingdom and to interpret these life stories in the context of resilient coping, meaning in life and life satisfaction. The thesis is qualitative, exploratory and interpretative in nature, and adopts a multiple case study design. The theoretical part draws on literature concerning narrative and cultural identity, migration, acculturation, resilience, meaning in life and well-being. The empirical material consists of narrative interviews, observational notes and supporting results obtained with the Brief Resilient Coping Scale (BRCS), the Meaning in Life Questionnaire (MLQ) and the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS). The analysis shows that, in the material examined, cultural identity does not take the form of a simple choice between Polishness and Britishness, but is linked to place of residence, language, relationships, work, memory and the future. The findings indicate diverse configurations of agency, ambivalence, meaning and life satisfaction; the aim of the thesis is achieved through an in-depth interpretation of six cases.
