W badaniu wzięły udział 104 kobiety w związku małżeńskim wychowujące dzieci do 10 roku życia.
This study is situated within the fields of stress and anxiety psychology, as well as the mutual influence of these issues on one another. The study involved 104 married women raising children aged 10 or under. The research procedure utilised standardised psychometric instruments: the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and the short form of the Parental Stress Inventory (PSI-SF). The analyses conducted demonstrated that the level of anxiety as a state and anxiety as a trait are predictors of the overall level of parental stress. It was also demonstrated that there is a positive correlation between situational anxiety and anxiety as a relatively stable personality trait, and personal stress, the perception of the child as difficult, and the assessment of the relationship with the child as more dysfunctional. The study did not find that the age of women raising children moderates the level of parental stress. The results clearly indicate that assessing the level of anxiety in mothers raising children and implementing interventions to reduce it are important factors influencing the level of perceived parental stress. This is a highly significant issue for the promotion of children’s healthy development.
